When You Need a Vacation from Vacation: The Harvey Wallbanger Cake
After a high-energy week of bus travel, teenagers, and unpredictable Florida weather, I needed a vacation from my vacation. Enter the Harvey Wallbanger cake — a nostalgic cocktail-inspired bundt infused with orange juice and Galliano liqueur that turned out to be the perfect way to slow down and welcome spring.
What began as curiosity (and a little skepticism about anise flavor) became a lesson in balance, patience, and unexpected delight. Much like travel itself, the experience reminded me that surprises and challenges often add depth rather than detract from the journey.
